A Good Read on Sale at our Sharm El Sheikh Dive Centre
The long awaited paperback has finally arrived.
The author of the very popular SS Thistlegorm book John Kean, has written a lighter read which would be interesting to anyone not just diving enthusiasts. Of course divers who have visited Sharm will be able to relate to the stories.
The idea for the book came after John had been working in Sharm for several years and had met many different and interesting people. One of the inspirations he had, was when signing a divers log book, he noticed the diver had written in the comments area “Lost Wife, Saw Barracuda” the story of which is told in detail in the book. For many years, John has been a friend of Alun and Moyra, the owners of Elite Diving. They first met John on a diving holiday to Sharm back in 1998 and again the next year. They also walked into a restaurant in Pembrokeshire West Wales, to see John sitting in front of them. After a brief re-acquaintance and a few beers later, they had arranged to take John out diving on the weekend to experience the Joys of British Diving.
On moving to work in Sharm back in 2002, Alun and Moyra worked with John for a few years before Elite Diving was formed and John moved on to pastures Blue. There is a limited numbers of this book printed, so get in touch with us if you want to purchase a copy. It’s an excellent read, very light hearted and funny book, it also tells of warts and all!!
